OCTOBER VIDEO MESSAGE

Reflecting on 2023 and Looking Ahead: A Message from the President

Dear Members of the REALTORS of South-Central Kansas,

As we approach the end of 2023, it is an honor and a privilege for me to address you one last time this year as the President of our esteemed association. This newsletter serves as the final publication of the year, allowing us to reflect on the journey we've undertaken together, the accomplishments we've achieved and the exciting prospects that lie ahead.

Reflection on the Year

2023 has been an eventful year for the REALTORS of South-Central Kansas. It's been marked by both successes and challenges as we navigated the ever-changing landscape of the real estate industry and adapted to the needs and aspirations of our members.  The year was packed between video updates, board meetings, committee meetings, broker forums and NAR/KAR events and conferences but reflecting back, one of my favorite things each month was installing new REALTOR members.  Each month I was able to swear them in and provide insight into the industry.  I made it a point to encourage mentorship, in-person attendance for education and networking, it’s what our industry is all about – relationships!

Successes: We've had several significant accomplishments to celebrate this year. Our association has continued to grow in membership, a testament to the value we provide to our community of real estate professionals. Our educational programs and professional development opportunities have empowered our members to thrive in a dynamic market. We've also strengthened our advocacy efforts, working tirelessly to represent the interests of our members at the local, state and national levels.

Challenges: Like any journey, we faced our fair share of challenges in 2023. The ongoing shifts in the housing market, economic uncertainties and regulatory changes have presented hurdles for us to overcome. Nevertheless, our association remained resilient, adapting to these challenges and emerging even stronger.

I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated members, volunteers, and the hardworking staff of our association. Your commitment and contributions have been the driving force behind our achievements this year. Your dedication to our mission and your passion for the real estate profession have truly made a difference.

Looking Ahead

As we turn the page to 2024, I am excited to introduce our new President Samar Edenfield and look forward to her sharing her vision for the upcoming year. The incoming leadership team is ready to build upon our successes and address the challenges that lay ahead.

In closing, I encourage each one of you to get involved and contribute to the growth and success of our association. Your participation is invaluable. Whether it's volunteering, attending events, or engaging with our committees and advocacy efforts, your active involvement ensures that we continue to thrive and meet the evolving needs of our members.

To learn more about how you can contribute and participate in upcoming events, please visit our website or reach out to our dedicated staff. Your support is what makes our association a powerful force in the real estate industry.

As I bid farewell to my role as President, I leave you with a sense of optimism and excitement for the future of the REALTORS of South-Central Kansas. With your continued support and dedication, I have no doubt that our association will continue to thrive, evolve and shape the real estate landscape in our region. Thank you for the trust you've placed in me and for your unwavering commitment to our shared mission.

Wishing you all a joyful holiday season, a successful year-end, and a prosperous beginning to 2024.

Warm regards,

Braden R. McCurdy

Who We Are

RSCK:
Established in 1921 - Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

The REALTORS® of South Central Kansas (RSCK) is a local affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and is the largest REALTOR Association in the state of Kansas with
more than 2400 members. Our membership is composed of residential and commercial REALTORS®, brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, and others who
are engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry. Our members have met state requirements to sell real estate, but, most importantly, each member has also pledged to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, promising to conduct their day-to- day business with the foremost
concern for their clients. Information regarding the REALTOR® Code of Ethics can be found here.

The RSCK Mission

To enhance the ability of our members to achieve success in an ethical and professional manner, advocate for and be the voice of the real estate industry in South Central Kansas.

SCK MLS:
About South Central Kansas MLS

South Central Kansas MLS (SCK MLS) was formed in 2004 and has been a trusted source for the most complete and accurate real estate information for South Central Kansas.  SCK MLS covers a service area of 5 counties—Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley, and Sumner.  SCK MLS provides authorized participants a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE).  SCK MLS currently provides services to approximately 2,500 real estate participants and subscribers.

SCK MLS provides real estate professionals with reliable, cost-effective access to a variety of multiple listing service products and services to serve their business needs in today’s fast-paced industry.

MLS is a means by which authorized participants make blanket unilateral offers of cooperation and compensation to other participants and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among the participants so they may better serve their clients and the public.  MLS property listings can be viewed publicly through kansasresidential.com (powered by Homesnap) or at Realtor.com, in addition to many other subscriber websites.

CIE serves as a commercial information exchange and can be found at kscommercialre.com.  Participants who have been retained by sellers of commercial property to market those properties may submit information on those properties to the CIE.  Participants who have been retained by buyers of a commercial property may submit information of the type of property sought to the CIE.  Any compensation agreements related to the property included in the CIE compilation must be made on an individual basis outside of the CIE between the Participants involved.  A CIE is not an MLS, no offers of cooperation and compensation are communicated through filing information on a property within the CIE.

SCK MLS helped facilitate over 12,654 transactions, worth over $2.4 Billion. SCK MLS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas.
