2024 RSCK President
Samar Edenfield

Happy New Year, RSCK Members!

As your newly elected RSCK President, I am very optimistic about this year and look forward to serving and supporting you all.

In the last few years, we have survived a pandemic, the rise of home prices, low inventory, record low interest rates and then record climbing interest rates, and now the commission lawsuits. Through all of this, I have witnessed the strength and commitment of leaders, REALTOR® members and business partners at the local, state, and National level.

RSCK leadership has been on top of the lawsuits and is working closely with the SCK MLS leadership to monitor industry changes. We will continue to be proactive in making internal changes to increase transparency and work with members to assist them in communicating the value of a REALTOR®  to consumers.

Like every president before me, I have many ideas and goals for my year as president of RSCK. My main goal is to continue to advocate for the value of REALTORS® and to honor those that show professionalism and integrity every day in everything they do. I also want to serve as a mentor to others that may need help along the way to understand what it means to be a REALTOR®.

I will continue to support all DEI efforts. I will lead by example while promoting and recognizing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well as being a champion for Fair Housing and affordable housing. Everyone deserves fair treatment; everyone deserves the opportunity to own a home and build generational wealth through real estate.

I am also a huge proponent of RPAC and will be dedicated to growing member participation in 2024. Think of RPAC like business insurance. For example, if it weren’t for RPAC we would not have been deemed “essential” during the pandemic allowing REALTORS® and every business connected to real estate to remain working during the spring and summer of 2020. Other Associations did not have the leadership and RPAC dollars to fight and they were shut down completely. If you have not donated to RPAC in previous years, I urge you to start giving to RPAC in 2024.

Over the last year I have thought about what theme or slogan I would like for 2024. Our theme this year is “Rise Up and Shine On: Elevate Your Potential and Illuminate Your Path.” This theme is intended to encourage our leadership and members to overcome challenges, rise to their full potential, and continue to shine brightly in their personal and professional journeys. The idea is that with determination and resilience, anyone can overcome adversity, achieve their goals, and radiate success! Together we will uphold the professionalism and value of the Realtor name and overcome the challenges ahead of us! We will Rise up and Shine on in 2024!

more than 2400 members. Our membership is composed of residential and commercial REALTORS®, brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, and others who

concern for their clients. Information regarding the REALTOR® Code of Ethics can be found here.

The RSCK Mission

To enhance the ability of our members to achieve success in an ethical and professional manner, advocate for and be the voice of the real estate industry in South Central Kansas.

SCK MLS:
About South Central Kansas MLS

South Central Kansas MLS (SCK MLS) was formed in 2004 and has been a trusted source for the most complete and accurate real estate information for South Central Kansas.  SCK MLS covers a service area of 5 counties—Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley, and Sumner.  SCK MLS provides authorized participants a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE).  SCK MLS currently provides services to approximately 2,500 real estate participants and subscribers.

SCK MLS provides real estate professionals with reliable, cost-effective access to a variety of multiple listing service products and services to serve their business needs in today’s fast-paced industry.

MLS is a means by which authorized participants make blanket unilateral offers of cooperation and compensation to other participants and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among the participants so they may better serve their clients and the public.  MLS property listings can be viewed publicly through kansasresidential.com (powered by Homesnap) or at Realtor.com, in addition to many other subscriber websites.

CIE serves as a commercial information exchange and can be found at kscommercialre.com.  Participants who have been retained by sellers of commercial property to market those properties may submit information on those properties to the CIE.  Participants who have been retained by buyers of a commercial property may submit information of the type of property sought to the CIE.  Any compensation agreements related to the property included in the CIE compilation must be made on an individual basis outside of the CIE between the Participants involved.  A CIE is not an MLS, no offers of cooperation and compensation are communicated through filing information on a property within the CIE.

SCK MLS helped facilitate over 12,654 transactions, worth over $2.4 Billion. SCK MLS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas.
