2024 RSCK President
Samar Edenfield

RSCK Members,

Hello, and welcome to the final stretch of 2024!

It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the 4th quarter of the year. Serving as your President has truly been an honor, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated group of professionals.

This year has certainly presented its share of challenges, most notably with the NAR lawsuit and settlement. While these developments prevented me from executing some of the initiatives I had planned, we all know that adaptability is a cornerstone of our industry. Embracing change and navigating through uncertainty is part of what makes us resilient.

Our team at RSCK has been working tirelessly to ensure that the resulting industry changes are managed as smoothly as possible for our members. I recognize that these adjustments are not easy, but as REALTORS®, we must continue to highlight our value to both buyers and sellers. Our resilience and perseverance will carry us through this transition and any future obstacles. I encourage each of you to stay informed about the latest changes and utilize the educational resources provided by RSCK, KAR, and NAR. Understanding these developments will not only enhance our skills as agents but also help consumers gain a clearer understanding of our role in the communities we serve.

Let’s be patient and supportive of one another as we all navigate these new waters. Take full advantage of the education and networking opportunities offered by RSCK—they are crucial for your professional growth and success. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming classes and events.

Before I sign off, I want to emphasize the importance of supporting RPAC. If you haven’t already contributed, I strongly encourage you to do so. RPAC serves as a vital safeguard for our industry, advocating for property ownership and ensuring that REALTOR® voices are heard at all levels of government. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps advance our cause and protect the American Dream.

It’s incredibly exciting to be part of this profession that embodies the American Dream. Let’s continue to “Rise Up and Shine On” as we head into the final months of 2024. Let’s finish strong... REALTOR® STRONG!

All my best always,

Samar Edenfield, RSCK 2024 President

Who We Are

RSCK:
Established in 1921 - Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

The REALTORS® of South Central Kansas (RSCK) is a local affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and is the largest REALTOR Association in the state of Kansas with
more than 2400 members. Our membership is composed of residential and commercial REALTORS®, brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, and others who
are engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry. Our members have met state requirements to sell real estate, but, most importantly, each member has also pledged to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, promising to conduct their day-to- day business with the foremost
concern for their clients. Information regarding the REALTOR® Code of Ethics can be found here.

The RSCK Mission

To enhance the ability of our members to achieve success in an ethical and professional manner, advocate for and be the voice of the real estate industry in South Central Kansas.

SCK MLS:
About South Central Kansas MLS

South Central Kansas MLS (SCK MLS) was formed in 2004 and has been a trusted source for the most complete and accurate real estate information for South Central Kansas.  SCK MLS covers a service area of 5 counties—Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley, and Sumner.  SCK MLS provides authorized participants a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE).  SCK MLS currently provides services to approximately 2,500 real estate participants and subscribers.

SCK MLS provides real estate professionals with reliable, cost-effective access to a variety of multiple listing service products and services to serve their business needs in today’s fast-paced industry.

MLS is a means by which authorized participants make blanket unilateral offers of cooperation and compensation to other participants and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among the participants so they may better serve their clients and the public.  MLS property listings can be viewed publicly through kansasresidential.com (powered by Homesnap) or at Realtor.com, in addition to many other subscriber websites.

CIE serves as a commercial information exchange and can be found at kscommercialre.com.  Participants who have been retained by sellers of commercial property to market those properties may submit information on those properties to the CIE.  Participants who have been retained by buyers of a commercial property may submit information of the type of property sought to the CIE.  Any compensation agreements related to the property included in the CIE compilation must be made on an individual basis outside of the CIE between the Participants involved.  A CIE is not an MLS, no offers of cooperation and compensation are communicated through filing information on a property within the CIE.

SCK MLS helped facilitate over 12,654 transactions, worth over $2.4 Billion. SCK MLS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas.
