2024 RSCK President
Samar Edenfield

RSCK Members,

I can hardly believe my year as your President is already coming to a close—it has flown by!

Serving as your 2024 RSCK President has truly been an honor and a privilege. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a talented and dedicated group of professionals.

While I did not accomplish all I set out to do this year, much of my focus shifted toward the immediate needs presented by the NAR lawsuit and settlement. It was a challenging and pivotal time, but we came together as a community to face it head-on. Through adaptability and resilience, we've navigated these changes and emerged stronger. A special shout-out goes to our Forms Committee which worked tirelessly under tight timelines to ensure that all necessary forms changes were made to keep us compliant and ready to continue serving our clients. The committee’s work, along with the diligent support from our Professional Development and Education teams, has been invaluable in helping us adapt to these industry shifts.

This year the educational programs offered through RSCK provided members with the tools and knowledge we need to stay ahead of the curve. The Vern Jarboe New Horizons Course, the 2-day ABR Designation Course, and our Lunch & Learns have been critical in helping our members stay informed and confident as we navigate the changes brought about by the settlement. I am proud of the effort and energy everyone has put into embracing professional development, ensuring that we're not just keeping up with the industry, but leading it.

And let's not forget about our amazing events this year! The New Productions Awards Event was a huge success, and our REALTORS® Relief Foundation Fundraiser was well attended and full of energy—what a fantastic night for an important cause! Looking ahead, we have the Awards Gala on December 12th, which is now an evening event with a YPN After Party that’s sure to be a blast. These events are more than just fun, they’re an incredible opportunity to network, build relationships, and celebrate our shared successes. I’ve truly enjoyed connecting with so many of you at these events!

One of the most exciting milestones this year was our merger with the Great Plains Association of REALTORS; what a tremendous step forward! We are thrilled to welcome them into the RSCK family as the Saline County Council, and look forward to growing and thriving together in the years to come.

As I close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you for your strength, resilience, adaptability and professionalism throughout 2024. It’s been a year of change for all of us, but the unwavering spirit of the RSCK community has been nothing short of inspiring. We’ve faced challenges but we’ve faced them together. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a team.

Though my time as President is coming to an end, I’m excited to continue serving as your Past President in 2025. I look forward to supporting all of you as we continue to grow and rise together.

Wishing you all a successful finish to 2024—let’s continue to “Rise Up and Shine On”!

Warm regards,

Samar

Who We Are

RSCK:
Established in 1921 - Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

The REALTORS® of South Central Kansas (RSCK) is a local affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and is the largest REALTOR Association in the state of Kansas with
more than 2400 members. Our membership is composed of residential and commercial REALTORS®, brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, and others who
are engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry. Our members have met state requirements to sell real estate, but, most importantly, each member has also pledged to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, promising to conduct their day-to- day business with the foremost
concern for their clients. Information regarding the REALTOR® Code of Ethics can be found here.

The RSCK Mission

To enhance the ability of our members to achieve success in an ethical and professional manner, advocate for and be the voice of the real estate industry in South Central Kansas.

SCK MLS:
About South Central Kansas MLS

South Central Kansas MLS (SCK MLS) was formed in 2004 and has been a trusted source for the most complete and accurate real estate information for South Central Kansas.  SCK MLS covers a service area of 5 counties—Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley, and Sumner.  SCK MLS provides authorized participants a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE).  SCK MLS currently provides services to approximately 2,500 real estate participants and subscribers.

SCK MLS provides real estate professionals with reliable, cost-effective access to a variety of multiple listing service products and services to serve their business needs in today’s fast-paced industry.

MLS is a means by which authorized participants make blanket unilateral offers of cooperation and compensation to other participants and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among the participants so they may better serve their clients and the public.  MLS property listings can be viewed publicly through kansasresidential.com (powered by Homesnap) or at Realtor.com, in addition to many other subscriber websites.

CIE serves as a commercial information exchange and can be found at kscommercialre.com.  Participants who have been retained by sellers of commercial property to market those properties may submit information on those properties to the CIE.  Participants who have been retained by buyers of a commercial property may submit information of the type of property sought to the CIE.  Any compensation agreements related to the property included in the CIE compilation must be made on an individual basis outside of the CIE between the Participants involved.  A CIE is not an MLS, no offers of cooperation and compensation are communicated through filing information on a property within the CIE.

SCK MLS helped facilitate over 12,654 transactions, worth over $2.4 Billion. SCK MLS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas.
