Public awareness campaign on state climate action proposals
NYSAR has launched an awareness campaign focused on the Climate Action Council’s scoping plan. On December 19th, the final scoping plan was approved by a vote of 19-3. The plan includes several recommendations that will phase out the use of natural gas, propane and oil in homes and businesses over time. Many of these recommendations will next be considered by the State legislature and/or go through the State’s regulatory process.
A transition to renewable energy is necessary, however, there are concerns regarding recommendations approved by the Climate Action Council. To learn more about these proposals and their potential costs to homeowners, and to sign up to receive updates, visit: https://nyelectrificationfacts.com/.
