I'm excited to share updates from the recent REALTORS Legislative meetings held in Washington, DC, held May 7 – 11, 2023. As active members of NAR, I had the privilege to participate in these influential meetings, advocating for Grand County and our industry on a national scale. During this year's meetings, we delved into critical topics such as affordable housing, infrastructure investment, tax policies, and emerging technology. It was an honor to be part of NAR’s Legislative meetings on your behalf.

Fair housing practices are a top priority for us. We're committed to promoting equality and eliminating any form of discrimination. That's why we provide regular training and education to our members on fair housing practices, ensuring that everyone gets a fair shot, regardless of their background. We have a strict code of ethics in place that prohibits any discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or any other protected characteristic. We believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity. The NAR Board of Directors passed new membership requirements for all members. Similar to the Code of Ethics training every three years, each member will be required to complete two hours of approved Fair Housing Training. The new requirement begins with Cycle 8, January 1, 2025. Watch for more details and opportunities to complete Fair Housing training on the GCAR newsletters and education calendar.
