GCAR Mayors & Managers Panel Highlights

The Grand County Association of REALTORS® once again welcomed local elected officials and staff for our annual Mayors & Managers panel discussion on May 13, 2026. Representatives from Winter Park, Fraser, Granby, and Grand Lake shared updates on housing, infrastructure, transportation, economic development, and long-range planning efforts shaping the future of our communities.

Housing remains a top priority throughout the county. Panelists highlighted a variety of workforce and attainable housing initiatives currently underway, including new for-sale and rental developments, land banking efforts, housing needs assessments, and partnerships aimed at increasing housing opportunities for year-round residents.

Infrastructure and utility capacity continue to be key considerations as communities plan for future growth. Water availability, utility infrastructure, and transportation systems were common themes, with several communities discussing ongoing investments needed to support anticipated development while maintaining reliable service levels.

Quality of life improvements also remain a major focus. Communities reported progress on trail connectivity, pedestrian access, transit enhancements, downtown improvements, and recreation amenities designed to improve both resident and visitor experiences. Several communities are working collaboratively on regional trail connections, wayfinding, and transportation initiatives.

Economic development efforts are also moving forward across Grand County, with communities exploring new business opportunities, downtown revitalization projects, and mixed-use developments intended to support vibrant year-round economies.

Thank you to all our participating mayors and managers for sharing their insights and for the continued collaboration that helps make Grand County a great place to live, work, and recreate.
