DEI COMMITTEE
Veronica Gillette
As we enter into the fall season, we want to take a moment to reflect on why our DEI Committee exists and the important role it plays in strengthening our profession and our community.
Our Mission Statement Operating through recognition and celebration, the DEI Committee is focused on presenting REALTORS® with opportunities to learn about different lifestyles, cultures, and environments, as a tool to strengthen our community.
The truth is, fair housing is at the heart of what we do as REALTORS®. Understanding diverse perspectives and addressing inequities in housing ensures that we are not only upholding the law, but also building trust, expanding opportunity, and making our communities stronger.
We invite you to join us for a free community event designed to spark learning and conversation around fair housing.
“Would You Show Me That House?” Film & Networking Night
Wednesday, November 5th 4:30–7:00 p.m. RSCK 170 W. Dewey Free to attend!
We’ll be screening Newsday’s award-winning documentary, Long Island Divided: Testing the Divide, which investigates housing discrimination and unequal treatment in real estate. The evening will also include networking and a casual concession experience featuring a hot dog bar (vegetarian option available), popcorn bar, and beverages.
This is more than a movie night, it’s a chance to learn, to connect, and to recommit to fair housing as the foundation of our work. We look forward to seeing you there!
