How can I apply for the REALTORS of South Central Kansas Board of Directors?

The RSCK Board of Directors is the governing body for our trade association (RSCK). The Board is responsible for overseeing our strategic direction and making important decisions related to governance, finance, approval of committee efforts, and management. Overall, the Board plays a crucial role in the success and sustainability of RSCK. The Board consists of REALTOR volunteers elected by the membership, along with Council Directors who have been appointed.

To apply for the RSCK Board of Directors, Nominees must be REALTOR® members in good standing and meet the following qualifications:

• At least two years of REALTOR® membership
• At least two years of active REALTOR® Association Committee experience, or equivalent leadership experience, in the past three years.
• No violations with the Kansas Real Estate Commission or REALTOR® Code of Ethics within the past three years.
• Broker acknowledgment of application. Requires Broker signature on the application.
• Because of the company limitation in the Bylaws (Article XI, Section 5) of “No more than two members of a firm may serve as an elected director,” the following companies will not be eligible for an RSCK director seat:
  • Berkshire Hathaway PenFed Realty
  • Coldwell Banker Plaza Real Estate
  • Keller Williams Hometown Partners
  • J.P. Weigand & Sons

How can I apply for the South-Central Kansas MLS Board of Directors?

The SCK MLS Board of Directors is the governing body for the for-profit wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas, South Central Kansas MLS. The Board is entrusted with the crucial task of overseeing the actions of the MLS and CIE committees and determine which MLS and CIE products and services are offered to members to serve their business.

To apply for the SCK MLS Board of Directors, Nominees must be REALTOR® members in good standing and must meet the following criteria:

• REALTOR® or Appraiser members of SCK MLS
• Current on all dues and assessments
• Not under suspension
• Because of the company limitation in the Bylaws (Article XI, Section 5) of “No more than two members of a firm may serve as an elected director, the following companies will not be eligible for an SCK MLS director seat:
  • Berkshire Hathaway PenFed Realty
  • Reece Nichols South Central Kansas

The Nominating Committee will also consider:

• Business acumen
• Years of real estate experience
• Education and certification
• Demonstrated leadership skills

What can I expect next?

1. The RSCK Leadership Development Committee and the SCK MLS Nominating Committee will convene to review the submitted applications, verify candidate qualifications, and inform applicants of their eligibility.
2. On August 13th, the RSCK Leadership Development Committee will host a Board Candidate Forum featuring eligible RSCK candidates.
3. Voting polls for RSCK and SCK MLS Members will open on August 25th at 9:00 a.m. and will close on September 10th at 9:00 a.m.
4. The results for the 2026 Board of Directors will be announced during the RSCK and SCK MLS Annual Meetings on Thursday, September 11th.
