PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

2054 RSCK President
Christy Friesen
RSCK Members,
As we move into the busy spring and summer months, it’s clear that real estate continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
Technology is advancing faster than ever, market conditions are shifting, and consumers are more informed - and more cautious - in their decisions. Yet even with all these changes, one truth remains constant: relationships are still the heart of our business.
In times of uncertainty, clients aren’t just looking for information - they’re looking for trust, guidance, and reassurance. They want to work with professionals who not only understand the market, but who genuinely care about their goals, concerns, and dreams. The connections we build today - by educating, empathizing, and advocating for our clients - will form the foundation for tomorrow’s success stories.
Relationships with our colleagues are equally vital. Real estate has always been a collaborative business, and in today’s environment, strong professional networks can be the difference between a challenging deal and a smooth closing. Sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and approaching our work with integrity elevates the experience for everyone involved.
We also know that strong relationships with our communities matter. Whether we’re sponsoring local events, volunteering, or simply showing up and being present, our visibility and involvement build trust - not just for ourselves individually, but for the industry as a whole.
RSCK is here to help strengthen all these connections. Through education, advocacy, and a variety of networking events, we provide the opportunity to build those relationships. We encourage you to take full advantage of the many opportunities RSCK offers - attend a class, join a committee, come to a networking event - and watch your connections and business thrive. It is so much more comfortable to work a transaction with someone that you already know and respect.
This month, we have several great opportunities to connect:
MLS Open Forum - May 12
Realtor Volunteer Days - May 13–15
Sip, Shop & Support Local - YPN Happy Hour – May 29
We hope to see you at one of these events, or at one of the many educational offerings or Lunch & Learns this month. Wishing you a strong and successful season ahead!

SCK MLS:
About South Central Kansas MLS
South Central Kansas MLS (SCK MLS) was formed in 2004 and has been a trusted source for the most complete and accurate real estate information for South Central Kansas. SCK MLS covers a service area of 5 counties—Sedgwick, Butler, Harvey, Cowley, and Sumner. SCK MLS provides authorized participants a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE). SCK MLS currently provides services to approximately 2,500 real estate participants and subscribers.
SCK MLS provides real estate professionals with reliable, cost-effective access to a variety of multiple listing service products and services to serve their business needs in today’s fast-paced industry.
MLS is a means by which authorized participants make blanket unilateral offers of cooperation and compensation to other participants and is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among the participants so they may better serve their clients and the public. MLS property listings can be viewed publicly through kansasresidential.com (powered by Homesnap) or at Realtor.com, in addition to many other subscriber websites.
CIE serves as a commercial information exchange and can be found at kscommercialre.com. Participants who have been retained by sellers of commercial property to market those properties may submit information on those properties to the CIE. Participants who have been retained by buyers of a commercial property may submit information of the type of property sought to the CIE. Any compensation agreements related to the property included in the CIE compilation must be made on an individual basis outside of the CIE between the Participants involved. A CIE is not an MLS, no offers of cooperation and compensation are communicated through filing information on a property within the CIE.
SCK MLS helped facilitate over 12,654 transactions, worth over $2.4 Billion. SCK MLS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the REALTORS of South Central Kansas.
